Juba natives in their hundreds on Wednesday converged at Ny√∂kur√∂n cultural centre to celebrate the creation of Jubek State among the 28 by President Salva Kiir’s Establishment Order on October 2.
Among the jubilant natives was Juba County Commissioner Stephen Wani Michael who says the creation of the 28 new states heals people’s wounds in conflict by bringing services closer to rural populations, Radio Bakhita reported.
Vice President James Wani Igga, one of the biggest natives of Juba says in Arabic that Jubek State unites five tribes in the county, cautioning the prospective leaders against corruption and nepotism.
Lulubo and Lokoya communities’ representatives demand equitable distribution of resources to foster development in Jubek State.
