United Nations Children Fund or UNICEF South Sudan Deputy Representative while addressing Global Hand Washing Day celebration in Juba on Thursday says there is no more confirmed case of cholera in South Sudan over the last two weeks.
Ettie Higgins says Global Hand Washing Day under the theme: ‘Raise clean hands and push cholera out of South Sudan’ is very effective in protecting individuals and families from diarrhea, pneumonia and cholera, Radio Bakhita reported.
National Minister of Lands, Housing and Physical Infrastructure Planning Catherine Juan says sanitation and hygiene remain government’s critical priority for public health in the country.
The occasion which attracted government officials, development partners and ordinary citizens was coloured with drama, poems and dances from more than five schools in Juba.
