A friendly football match between Saints Peter and Paul and Holy Cross Parishes of El Obeid Catholic Diocese ended with 1-1 draw at Freedom Football Square in Nuba Mountains.
The match marking the feast of Saint Daniel Comboni on Sunday, witnessed Holy Cross scoring the first goal, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
Saints Peter and Paul captain, Kodi Kodi Ajab Hassan, said they initiated the football competition to promote peace and unite people in the Nuba Mountains.
Holy Cross captain’s representative said that the competition was good.
An observer at the match said both teams played well, but he blamed the lineman of injustices during the match.
The match ended at about 6:00 PM followed by heavy rains.
