Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish of El Obeid Diocese in Nuba Mountains on Saturday marked the feast of Saint Daniel Comboni.

Presiding over the Eucharist Celebration Father Abel Arkangelo describes the day as great for Christians’ life in Africa and more especially in Sudan because Comboni founded Christianity and became a Saint for Sudanese, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

He explains that St Daniel Comboni brought hope, happiness and freedom to the people of Sudan.

A Comboni Sister Catherine Khamis while addressing the congregation said the celebration aimed to thank God for the great things He has done in St Daniel who is the founder, father in faith and a friend throughout the whole world.

She characterizes the feast to be a sign of Saint Daniel Comboni’s fruits and continuous mission.

The Sister invites all Christians to celebrate together the feast of Saint Daniel Comboni, who sacrificed himself to the love of God for the salvation of Africa and Sudan.
