Fifteen chiefs of Raja openly protested against the creation of new Lol State joining their County to Aweil North and West.

Feroge tribe Chief Abdallah Tamim Fartak told Radio Voce of Hope that they reject their connection to Aweil because people of Raja are farmers while those of Aweil are predominantly pastoralists.

Another Chief Mohamed Ahmed Madibo agrees that most of the people in Aweil are armed and that joining them would mean chaos.

Raja County Commissioner Marodama James Benjamin says the government is ready to listen to views of people, though he earlier welcomed the decision.

Sultan Tamim says the people in Raja are disappointed and they want President Salva Kiir to reverse his decision so that they can live in peace.

The traditional chiefs say they finalized the document and unanimously agreed to reject the presidential order on Lol State.
