Ebony Center for Strategic Studies Economist in Juba says South Sudan needs to redouble efforts to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs set by the United Nations General Assembly in September, 2015.

Dr James Alic Garang tells Radio Bakhita that South Sudanese majority currently live below poverty line and that it seems a tug of war to realize the goal of global eradication of poverty by 2030 in the country.

The economist says South Sudan may not accomplish all the Sustainable Development Goals within the 15 years timeline.

He calls on government to embark on institutional reforms and inject more resources into industrial innovation and agriculture development.

Dr Alic urges stakeholders to devise mechanisms to encourage development of small and medium enterprises to pave way for lending services.
