Saints Peter and Paul Parish Unity team on Thursday beat Uhru team 1-0 in a friendly football match at Freedom Football Field in Gidel of Heiban County, Nuba Mountains.
Unity team’s player scored the only winning goal in the 20th minute of the second round, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
Captains from both teams appreciated the match saying competition is not about defeating one another but entertaining and pleasing people.
Uhru team Captain Ibrahim Ali invited Unity team for a similar competition in its place next time, advising his team to prepare well to win the next match.
Kumbur Payams Executive Director Jibrin Musa Al Ker Adam thanked both teams, urging them to aim higher and organize their sports so that they can go to play in far places like Yida.
