The High Court in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State on Tuesday convicted two foreigners to three years imprisonment over money counterfeiting.

DR Congolese Solomon Logonzo and a Central African Republic national Abuka Batuluka were arrested in May this year of producing fake one hundred, fifty and ten South Sudan Pounds notes, Radio Easter reported.

The Court’s Judge Obech Denyong says complainers Ibrahim Said, Stephen Remo and Charles James submitted ‘sufficient evidence’ of materials including chemicals and a black paper that convicted the two foreigners.

The Judge says the Court sentenced the two foreigners under section 156 of South Sudan Penal Code 2008, adding that the materials would be destroyed.
