Traders in Rumbek of Lakes State are standing firm to maintain prices of commodities high despite the signed peace agreement that resulted in decline of Dollar exchange rates against Pound.
Radio Good News toured Rumbek market and spoke to some traders including Ismail Khalid, a meat seller who said they will keep meat prices up because cows are expensive with government high charges and labour.
Another trader Hamed Ahmed said Dollar keeps fluctuating on daily basis since the peace was signed and it cannot make them reduce prices.
A vegetables seller in the same market said they maintain goods at high prices until the Dollar drop.
The traders hope the peace agreement President Salva Kiir signed last week can help reduce hard currencies to bring down prices of goods to relieve consumers countrywide.
