Saint Monica Chapel in Chamri under Saints Peter and Paul Parish in the Catholic diocese of El Obeid on Thursday commemorated the feast of Saint Monica and baptized four people.
Saints Peter and Paul Parish Priest Francis Angela while presiding over the Eucharistic celebration feat and invited the faithful to be an exemplary like Monica who loved his son that she converted him to Christianity, Voice of Peace reported.
Fr Angela called on believers to pray for those who received baptism to remain good people and change other people’s lives like Saint Monica.
Saint Monica was born in Tagast North Africa by Christian parents who married her to a pagan old man, had three children among them was the priest and Bishop of Hippo Augustine her first son.
She is the Patron saint of people who are patient, wives, mothers and victims of abuse.
