Inter-Payams primary schools football and volleyball tournaments for boys and girls started at Yei Freedom Square on Friday.
County Games and Sports Vice Chairperson Tramulu Jackson Hakim says the competition aims at promoting peace, developing talents and identifying the quality players to represent the county at all levels, Radio Easter reported.
He warns that any Payam portraying indiscipline cases during the tournaments would be suspended for two years with a fine, calling on the players, officials and spectators to be discipline and desist from fighting.
While speaking to Radio Easter before the match start, players Stella Nyoka and Denis James urge fellow boys and girls to embark on sports to develop the God’s given talents to champion for the nation at international competitions.
Thousands of spectators including those drawn from the four Payams of Lasu, Mugwo, Otogo, Tore in Yei River County plus the municipality are watching the tournaments.
