NBG government expresses keenness to cooperate with journalists

Northern Bahr El Ghazal Information and Communication Minister expressed state government’s keenness to cooperate with journalists and media houses to inform and educate the public on diverse developments in South Sudan.
 
Wek Kuac Deng in his opening remarks during awareness day on media laws, code of conduct and ethics of journalism on Tuesday in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State said he feels like an empty room without media.
 
Association for Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS Chairperson Alfred Taban called on female journalists to participate on the media ground, calling for equal rights and opportunity to women and cooperation to have a better media in the country.
 
He advised journalists to stick to the code of conduct, ethics of journalism and understand the media laws.
 
The awareness workshop drew together eight female and 18 male journalists from UNMISS Information Unit, Radio Miraya, South Sudan Television, Eye Radio, Gurtong website, Juba Monitor, Nhomlaau FM, Weer Bei FM and Aweil State Radio in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
 
The workshop AMDISS and ALABANY ASSOCIATES conducted with funds from USAID aims to provide technical legal support in the dissemination of the media laws, code of conduct and journalism ethics to all members of the press.
