Citizens in Wau, Western Bahr El-Ghazal praised President Salva Kiir Mayardit for choosing to be peace hero by signing the long awaited peace agreement for South Sudanese.
Radio Voice of Hope spoke to different citizens who commented that the president made the right decision.
A civil society activist Stephen Robo welcomed President Kiir’s decision which termed ‘wise and courageous’ showing to South Sudanese and the world that he is for peace by signing the document though with reservations.
Linda Ferdinand says the President paid attention to the suffering of women and children displaced by the war and that it is now upon South Sudanese to take care of the signed peace.
Another citizen, Arkangelo Amatu, expressed excitement over the news that President Salva Kiir on Wednesday evening inked the peace agreement in Juba after a week consultation with his government.
The President on Wednesday while addressing the occasion called on IGAD and the international community to help in the implementation of the peace agreement to avoid further escalation of war.
