Wau Teaching Hospital in Western Bahr El Ghazal on Wednesday concluded a month long fistula campaign after operating more than hundred patients from across the ten states.

As others still remain in beds, 23 were released in a ceremonial gathering which officials termed as ‘graduation from a class of dignity restoration’, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

State Health minister Isaac Cleto says doctors would remain on the ground to attend to any case that might come and monitor those operated prior to the end of the campaign.

United Nation Population Fund or UNFPA Country Director Barnaba Isha says women in South Sudan deserve to live dignified life and that his organization would continue to support similar obstetric fistula campaigns.

The UNFPA headed medical team in collaboration with the national Health ministry started the fistula campaign on July 19 making patients joyfully waiting a big reception in their various communities.
