EE Governor reconciles Jie and Mogos communities

Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore mediated reconciliation of Jie and Mogos communities during his three-day peace and justice mission to Greater Kapoeta.
 
Governor Lobong told the press that a fragile relation between Mogos and Jie communities due to cattle theft inflicted a lot of losses and retarded development in Kapoeta East County, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
Eastern Equatoria Member of Parliament representing Kapoeta East County Benjamin Lopeyok expressed gratitude on Governor Lobong’s visit, calling for basic services provision.
 
Peace and justice mission is the state government’s campaign supported by SPLA targeting cattle rustlers, robbers and perpetrators of unnecessary killing of innocent people within communities.
 
The campaign also aims at riding off attackers along Torit–Kapoeta highway and Camp 15 where several soldiers were killed.
 
Governor Lobong launches the mission in Buya administrative area over the weekend with an aim of apprehending criminals causing insecurity in the area.
 
The campaign is expected to be extended to Greater Torit Counties.
