Eastern Equatoria State of South Sudan and Lamwo District of Uganda drew five-point resolutions, pledging to handle Lamwo-Magwi border dispute.
Eastern Equatoria Assembly Speaker Tobiolo Alberio Oromo said the two parties on Monday resolved at a meeting in Lamwo District that Magwi-Lamwo Local governments create cordial and peaceful relations between the people, Radio Emmanuel reported.
The Speaker says the meeting also resolved that local leaders in Magwi County and Lamwo District should promote positive relations, network and prevent conflict.
Speaker Tobiolo says the Lamwo meeting also recommended setting date to return items lost during the conflict from both South Sudan and Uganda to the rightful owners.
The Speaker says African Union Border Demarcation Commission; the body responsible for border issues is expected to commence the exercise next year.
