Farmers in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State said they lost hope on tractors President of the Republic donated to farming communities across the country.
The County Assistant Commissioner for Agriculture Edmond Taban Gogo says his department did not receive any communication on the where about of the tractors from his Agriculture ministry, expressing frustration due to farming communities’ pressure, Radio Easter reported.
He lamented that farmers in Yei are still using their traditional hoes to produce food for home consumption.
Earlier this year, President Salva Kiir donated 1,000 tractors, a move to fight food insecurity in the country.
The tractors were distributed verbally to states without reaching counties.
