SPLA-North last August rescued a five-year old girl, Iman Fadlemula Mohamed Fadlemula after it clashed with Sudan army or SAF and handed her to the International Committee of the Red Cross or ICRC.
The SPLM-N Negotiations spokesperson Mubarak Ardol said they got the girl in the bush after clashes between their forces and SAF in Wad-Abuk area south of Damazin town of Blue Nile State, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
He said the SPLM-N contacted ICRC to facilitate Iman’s return to her family.
The Spokesperson reaffirmed SPLM-N’s commitment to the safety of all civilians in Sudan, follow all international laws and conventions towards the protection of children and civilians in the armed conflicts.
He said SPLM-N is still prepared to release 20 prisoners of war and hand over the 22 mining workers, through ICRC as initiated by reform and renaissance initiative.
