President Kiir dismisses and appoints State Governors

The President of the Republic issued a decree dismissing four elected state governors and replaced them with caretakers.
 
The decree read on South Sudan Television on Sunday evening, relieved Clement Wani Konga of Central Equatoria, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro of Western Equatoria, Nyandeng Malek Deliech of Warrap and Simon Kun Puoch of Upper Nile States.
 
President Salva Kiir Mayardit in the second decree appointed Juma Ali Malau Central Equatoria Governor, Patrick Dominic Zamoi, Western Equatoria Governor, Akech Tong for Warrap and SPLA Deputy Chief of General Staff for Moral Orientation Lieutenant General Chol Thon Upper Nile Governor.
 
The President issued the third decree appointing Northern Bahr El Ghazal Police Commissioner Akot Deng Akot as the new Governor and Salva Chol Ayat who acted as caretaker governor remains his deputy.
 
The three decrees are effective from August 16 2015.
 
In a related development, the President on Sunday left Juba for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for face-to-face negotiations with opposition leader Riek Machar to possibly sign a final peace agreement.
