Western Equatoria government and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Thursday handed over Yabua Primary School in Nzara and Nabagu in Yambio Counties to communities.
State Acting Governor Clement Juma Mbugoniwia thanked UNHCR for the initiative which he described as noble gifts to citizens.
He assured NGOs and UN agencies that the government would improve security.
Education Minister Pia Phillip Michael said they were celebrating the success because pupils earlier were learning under trees, a bad environment which worried both the government and communities.
UNHCR Country Representative Ahmed Warseme promises to complete their project in a month time by bringing benches to the two schools because they are much delighted of the commitment of Yabua people.
In a separate occasion, UNHCR constructed eight classrooms in Nabagu and renovated four others in Yabua.
