Ten State Governors and Chief Administrators of Abyei and Pibor Areas assembled in Juba on Thursday to consult on the peace talks and concluded by urging the IGAD Plus to suspend the talks until Opposition leader Riek Machar Teny and his commanders including Peter Gatdet sort out their differences to achieve lasting and inclusive peace.

Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore representing Governors on Friday told the press that they recommend delaying signing peace negotiations in Addis Ababa to include opposition commanders who split from Dr Machar to avoid returning to war.

He stresses that they do not want the government to sign peace with the opposition leader today and tomorrow again they go and negotiate with Peter Gatdet.

The Governor says they recommend President Salva Kiir to lead the transitional government with two vice presidents of equal status, suggesting that power sharing should be left to the warring parties instead of IGAD.

Peter Gatdet after Dr Machar recently sacked him and another commander decided to split from SPLM/A in opposition.
