Official warns no headway for South Sudan without investing on youth

National Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Undersecretary on Wednesday during International Youth Day commemoration in Juba under the theme: ‘Youth civic engagement’, warns that South Sudan would not have headway in the future without investing on youth.
 
Esther Ikere stressed the need to invest on young people as they are very central in development to transform lives of South Sudanese, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
She discouraged early marriage, calling for creation of awareness to educate masses on the dangers of early marriage and that development of skills and young people’s participation in nation building are vital.
 
National Education Ministry Gender Equity and Social Change Acting Director Esther Akumu called for empowerment of young people especially females through education.
 
She calls for joint efforts among the related ministries to enhance and empower youth in the country.
