UN encourages investment on girls’ education and dejects force marriage

United Nations Population Fund or UNFPA Country representative says investing in young people should not be limited only to boys, but also to girls and that girls should not be forced into marriage until they complete university studies.
 
Babatunde Ostimehin challenges the government to promote young people at all levels, warning that development of South Sudan would not move without investing on youth.
 
The Country representative calls for collective support to youth in education, health and skills to attain peace for them to grow economically and politically in South Sudan.
 
National Education Ministry representative Esther Akumu urges young people to shun dependency and create jobs for themselves.
 
Ms Akumu observes that there is a lot in South Sudan that youth could do, expressing efforts to bring them up.
