Acholi Community of Magwi County in Eastern Equatoria State is calling for unconditional withdrawal of Uganda People’s Defence Force or UPDF in their territory and its redeployment South of River Limu.

Acting Chairperson Easter Tiberio calls for immediate return and compensation of stolen properties, refuting media propaganda by some Ugandan government officials in Lamwo District terming their community members invaders and cattle rustlers.

Ms Tiberio accuses Uganda of extending its border more than 18 kilometers into South Sudan territory beyond the colonial borders.

The Acting Chairperson calls on national government to send border demarcation committee to verify and engage Ugandan authority to demarcate the area to resolve the disputes amicably.

Ms Tiberio says the Acholi Community was shocked and angered by Ugandan forces incursion into South Sudan territory, shooting and shelling at unarmed civilians in Ngom area of Pogee Boma of Pajok Payam, Magwi County on August 2.
