United Nations Children Fund or UNICEF South Sudan Representative says there is crucial need to give equitable education opportunities by balancing primary, secondary and tertiary education for all children in the country to groom desired future leaders.

Jonathan Veitch told the press on Tuesday that 90 percent of 1,757 demobilized child soldiers in Pibor envision education as the first priority of their life after carrying guns heavier than their weights.

He identifies Pibor as one of the most marginalized areas in South Sudan, urging the government to lead in education service to citizens as partners support it.

National Education Undersecretary Michael Lopuke Lotyam believes education of children cannot wait for the war to end and that the government is committing six million South Sudanese Pounds in the budget as capitation grants to prioritize education after security in the country.
