Citizens Newspaper Chief Editor Nhial Bol says he will campaign against the closure of his media house because what the security personnel tell him is “rubbish and nonsense”.
He told CRN on Tuesday that security forces closed the Newspaper indefinitely, ordering him not to print until he is informed to do so.
The Chief Editor says the closure followed an article published about political parties titled ‘Political parties say SPLM will not handle transitional period’.
A National Alliance member, Garang Thuc Garang, argues that it is the right of any media house to sue to court anybody including government institutions who try to prevent any media house from its work to avoid threats.
SPLM-DC Chairperson Lam Akol Ajawin says it is only the court to decide on the strength of evidence available whether a media house is right or wrong to be closed or fined.
The Citizen Newspaper was closed on Monday.
