Eden Transport Company has suspended transport services for travelers and goods along Yei-Juba road due to heightening insecurity and customers’ threats.
Company official Nyoka Betty says the suspension of operations follows passengers’ demand for compensation of robbed belongings.
She explains that after robbers’ ambush along Yei-Juba road, some customers forced the company to pay over eight thousand South Sudanese Pounds, issuing threats of torture to the driver in case of failure.
She says the company will resume operations when the security situation normalizes.
The company official urges government to secure Yei-Juba road from terrorizing ambushes.
The official made the statement to Radio Easter in a telephone interview.
