The organizing committee for the anniversary of Bishop Emeritus Joseph Gasi Abangite adjourns the procession of Centenary Cross in Central Deanery of Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese.
Fr John Gbemboyo says the diocesan leadership suspends the Centenary Cross procession until further notice due to worsening security situation in Yambio, Radio Anisa reported.
He urges the local communities to pray for peace in various places.
The organizing committee pays condolences to families that have lost beloved members in Yambio attacks over the week.
The committee was supposed to transport Centenary Cross from Mupoi to Yambio where Christians have prepared to receive it at Akorogbodi Chapel on Saturday today.
The Centenary Cross procession was meant to reinforce Christians’ faith in memory of Bishop Emeritus Joseph Gasi Abangite.
