Nuba Mountains Agriculture Secretariat on Wednesday announced making a tremendous success in the farming project launched in the beginning of the rainy season.
The Secretariat Agriculture Director Rahma Kabash Kodi told Radio Voice of Peace that the 11 large scale farms opened at various locations are progressing well.
He uncovered that they implemented all the five plans proposed for 2015 including workshop on agriculture techniques.
Mr Kabash explained that they repaired 11 tractors allocated for the farms and distributed them to all localities and that they managed to make the farming system run smoothly although despite natural challenges.
He revealed plans to open farms next year in every Payam rather than locality with at least 1000 acres each.
The Director said the Agriculture Secretariat is planning to form a committee to assess gardens after harvests to inform people to clean and prepare in advance.
He encouraged people willing to open their farms and that the secretariat is ready to help them.
The Agriculture Director urged religious groups to pray for rain as it is in God’s hand.
