South Sudan Council of Churches National Women Programme is on Saturday leading a fasting and prayer procession for peace in the country with a message of repentance for true peace.

South Sudan and Sudan Peace Advisor John Ashworth on Wednesday told CRN that the fasting and prayer for peace procession starts early Saturday morning to supplement political peace efforts in the country.

He says the church believes that true peace would come to the country when South Sudanese repent their sins, disclosing that church leaders are meeting this week to analyze the IGAD Plus Compromise Peace Agreement to present a position paper.

The South Sudan and Sudan Peace Advisor made the statement during a courtesy visit to CRN Coordination Office in Juba on Wednesday.
