Yousif Kuwa Teachers Training Institute on Monday beat St Joseph Secondary School 1-0 in a football competition.

The second round was a real marathon, but neither the Institute nor the Joseph students scored a goal, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

Yousif Kuwa Institute captain Hamad Ambio Ahmed urged football teams to strengthen football and make it one of the most important sports in the Nuba Mountains.

He suggested that Kauda and Konjo teams organize football tournaments during Muslim and Christian feasts, calling on schools to embrace sports and develop them to the national level.

Saint Joseph Secondary School captain Ibrahim Yousif Ibrahim said the competition showed a sign of unity between the two teams.

He noted that the football competition creates good relations between different tribes, calling on communities to watch football matches to know people from other sides.
