Yei Catholic Bishop told citizens constructing permanent buildings in church lands to vacate and avoid ‘bringing shame to the church’.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe’s remark to St Joseph’s parish congregation on Sunday followed intrusion of some residents of Lutaya settling in the church land, Radio Easter reported.

He warns that the church through the support of the government would demolish residents building permanent settlements in church land as it helps the church to plan for its future development activities such as building schools and hospitals.

Locals report that some citizens settling in the church land are using threatening words against those standing for the good of the church.
