Wau Airport management in Western Bahr El Ghazal State says normal flights are expected to resume in three weeks as they expect the airport runway renovation started in early May to be complete.

Manager Daniel Nhial says after accomplishing the renovation Wau Airport will qualify as one of the biggest aviation terminal in South Sudan in addition to Juba International Airport, Voice of Hope reported.

He adds that a private company contracted the airport runway extension to construct an additional one kilometre to improve pavement for successful landing of 100 tons’ planes.

Wau Airport management in May announced three days per week flights’ cut off to allow face uplift construction.
