National Agriculture Minister pleads to citizens to stop exporting charcoal

National Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development on Wednesday calls on South Sudanese to stop exporting charcoal to other countries.
 
Beda Deng Machar tells the nation to use alternative sources of energy including electricity and dry firewood, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
Environment Minister Deng Deng Hoc urges concerned authorities to take action to avoid or reduce desertification for tree sustainability, discourages masses from practicing deforestation for the sake of reserving trees.
 
Minister Deng wonders how human live would survive without trees in the world with too much carbon dioxide, calling on citizens to protect the already existing trees and plant more to help sustain human lives.
 
The Minister says those importing charcoal would be considered illegal because the ministry already banned the practice.
 
He states that security and law enforcement agents were mandated to confiscate charcoal being exported from the country and arrest culprits.
