The Civil Society Organizations Forum in Yei formed an investigation committee to ascertain the prospect on the inefficiency of Yei Electric Cooperative’s public power supply and report after one week.

The Forum’s Secretary-General Dara Felix says the committees would help them with enough information on government engagement and the cause of the breakdown of four generators without immediate mitigation mechanisms, Radio Easter reported.

He says gathering the information would enable them devise ways of improving the level of the public power supplier in delivering the community’s needed services consistently.

Mr Dara laments that the Forum ‘feels bad and sad’ over the power blackout, adding that the closure of power increase crimes rate since thieves take advantage.

The Secretary-General told Radio Easter on Wednesday that the committees are expected to report on July 24.
