Unidentified attackers on Saturday night shot a police officer and burnt two vehicles parked at Juba-Nimule high way check point.
Pageri Area Chief Administrator Emilio Igga tells Radio Emmanuel that the two vehicles were numberless awaiting clearance and that the unidentified attackers wounded the police officer.
The wounded police officer is receiving medication at Nimule Hospital.
Administrator Igga says in separate incident on that same day, residents heard gunshots at Nimule Air strip by unknown attackers.
Administrator Igga says investigation is on progress to find out the attackers.
The incident caused panic to the civil population, but business activities in Nimule town are proceeding normally.
