Maridi Commissioner confirms three Eritreans shot dead, conveys condolence

Western Equatoria State’s Maridi County Commissioner has on Monday confirmed that three Eritrean citizens were shot dead in Maridi town by unidentified assailants on Sunday evening.
 
Thomas Wilson Yangi in an exclusive interview with CRN conveys his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased Eritreans identified as two traders and one student of 16 years.
 
He explains that the deceased were in their room when armed persons shot them dead and that investigation is underway to bring the perpetrators to book.
 
Commissioner Wilson urges the local population to be vigilant and report any suspect of the brutal murder to police for justice to prevail.
 
He says the county administration is trying to contain the security situation in Maridi.
 
Maridi and Mundri Counties of Western Equatoria State have witnessed bloody conflicts in recent days, claiming scores of lives, wounding many and that there were 36 Maridi youths arbitrarily arrested and dashed to Juba allegedly by SPLA Commandos, creating concerns from the state government and the civil population.
