A legal expert facilitating two-day community awareness workshop on judicial system for traditional leaders in Wau County of Western Bar el Ghazal State says traditional chiefs are not supposed to handle some cases including rape.
Justice Moris Yel explains that on rape cases chiefs only look at compensation and leaving out some legal implication in relation to rape and that they should forward such cases to police, Voice of Hope reported.
The facilitator advises citizens to follow legal procedures to avoid paying money to unauthorized persons.
