A group identifying itself as Warrap State Youth & Civil Society leadership in Kwajok and Juba on Friday issued a strong worded statement against the three years’ extension of governorship tenure for Nyandeng Malek.
Unlike her counterparts in other states, the group criticizes Governor Nyandeng’s mandate renewal as unconstitutional, Radio Bakhita reported.
The statement says there are many inconsistencies, irregularities, intimidation and security threats imposed on Warrap State Legislative Assembly members and the citizens who are denied audience to avail their views on the constitution.
The group claims Governor Nyandeng has failed to provide adequate security to Warrap State citizens.
The civil society leadership urges President Salva Kiir Mayardit to intervene in their state politics.
The statement alleges that state Members of Parliament have been subjected to humiliation, illegal arrest, harassment, abuse and torture under Governor Nyandeng’s leadership.
