South Sudan Justice Minister says Geneva 29th Human Rights Summit labels South Sudanese as ’emotional’, ‘not very serious about nationhood’; and unable to live in a democratic environment.

Paulino Wanawilla Unango reveals to journalists at Juba International Airport upon return from attending the Human Rights Summit in Geneva that development partners in South Sudan are calculating something to be done to transform South Sudanese to be in line with global modern society.

He adds that the world has shown a very serious concern about how South Sudanese can live in peace and how the history of impunity can be ended.

Justice Wanawilla discloses that the Human Rights session has resolved to appoint an independent Special Human Rights Rapporteur to South Sudan to work together with African groups of ambassadors and channel reports on rights’ violations.

He adds that the summit has also formed an ad hoc mission to investigate human rights’ abuses in South Sudan and advise on addressing accountability.

Media reports indicate that government through its Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin has been protesting against the proposal for the appointment of Special Human Rights Rapporteur to South Sudan.
