Police in Nuba Mountains is hunting a father in Kumbur Payam, Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains for beating his primary one girl daughter to medical condition.
Police Director Alamin Abdalla told Voice of Peace on Friday that they received a report from the school administration that a small girl was beaten beyond normal punishment and that she was receiving treatment in hospital.
He says a team of policemen were sent to arrest the girl’s father for investigation, but he was not found.
The Police Director urges community members to bring up children in a good manner but not beating them brutally.
He adds that child protection is a collective responsibility of parents, guardians, chiefs, doctors, teachers and NGOs.
