Juba City Council Mayor has assigned 55 Quarter Council members in various residential areas to sensitize communities on cholera outbreak as he declares indefinite closure of open restraints operating along streets and business centres in Juba.
Mayor Chris Saraphino Wani Swaka appeals to the general public to be patient and understanding on the shut down of overt restaurants as a strategy to protect citizens from contracting cholera, Radio Bakhita reported.
He adds that the Quarter Council members monitor water points, local hotels and households’ hygienic activities to do away with the spread of cholera.
Quarter Council head of Kator Payam William Sebit appeals to the local population to ensure proper personal and family hygiene to reduce the spread of cholera that has already claimed over 20 lives in Juba.
