After business paralysis in Wau for the last two days, foreign traders have resumed operations on Tuesday only to wind up their stocks to leave Western Bahr El Ghazal State.

Anonymous traders mainly from East Africa tell Voice of Hope that without life security assurances and property safety, they are shutting down businesses and returning to their mother land.

Western Bahr El Ghazal Trade Chamber Chairman Wol Charles says insecurity is all over and has gone beyond government control.

He says the few days’ business stall was due to mourning of murdered trader Isaack Haj Mahad, but not a strike.

Foreign traders in Wau believe they are targets of killing and robbery for the so called unknown gunmen.
