African Union or AU has resolved to meet at ministerial level in mid-July, 2015 to consider the Commission of Inquiry report headed by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on South Sudan conflict human rights’ violations.
In a communiqu√© dated June 13, AU decides to convene to adopt the report and its recommendations on investigation of human rights’ violations committed during and after mid December 2013 armed conflict in the country to ensure accountability, reconciliation and healing among South Sudanese.
The AU also decides to remain actively seized of South Sudan conflict situation, expressing concerns on continuous hostilities in breach of cessation agreements.
