Yei River County Administration in Central Equatoria State has calmed residents over rising tension created by heavy movement of armed forces.
County Commissioner Cosmas Bidali Wöri-Köjö says the heavy presence of armed forces patrolling the town is a crime crack down strategy to control looting in residential areas and high ways, Radio Easter reported.
He describes security situation in Yei River County as normal and conducive for workforce to settle for business, refuting any rumour of war.
Commissioner Bidali warns the armed forces against intimidating any citizen in the county, saying whoever does it shall be accountable.
Yei town was on Thursday daybreak in panic as residents started fleeing with rumours that the area was under security threat.
