South Sudan Council of Churches leaders’ retreat in Kigali, Rwanda between the first and seventh June ask for forgiveness of anything South Sudanese might have done to divide the nation as for all times the leaders failed to speak and act in love to heal it.
The leaders following their touch down at Juba International airport on Sunday say they brought to South Sudan a message of hope.
The religious leaders declare that they were inspired by the spirit of love and forgiveness they saw in their brothers and sisters in Rwanda.
They say Rwandan testimonies demonstrate that forgiveness is not just a theory, but it actually works and that the past does not need to control South Sudanese any more.
The leaders appeal to South Sudanese to once again accept themselves as one united people for the grace and power of God to prevail in their struggle for peace.
