Rahama Kabash Kodi discloses that they opened up two farms consisting of 900 acres each ready for cultivation, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

The Acting Director cites that the large scale farming project was planned two years ago aiming at supporting food security in the region including IDPs from Talodi.

He advises the community to plant enough crops but not to be discouraged with the lack of rainfall.

The Acting Director recalls earlier plan by Nuba Relief and Rehabilitation Organization, in collaboration with Kulurubu of distributing some seedlings in the coming days to all Payams.

He advises citizens to feed on vegetable, saying the more people eat vegetables the more they fight diseases in their bodies.

The people of Nuba Mountains were hit by hunger since the outbreak of conflict in 2011.
