Egyptian doctors operate nearly 300 patients in Wau

Western Bahr El Ghazal Health Authorities say Egyptian medical doctors operated nearly 300 patients out of the seven hundred targeted since they started last Saturday at Wau Teaching Hospital.
 
Health Minister Isaac Cleto Hassan says the campaign aims to help poor people who cannot afford operations abroad, adding that the initiative would also empower local medical personnel through training and skill sharing, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
Egyptian Orthopedic Doctor Mohammad Hijazi expresses worries that the equipments they have cannot cover the whole number of patients as its keeps increasing.
 
One of beneficiaries Mathew Chan, who has eye infection expressed happiness, lamenting that many patients might not be treated because of limited time and that the doctors should spend more days to cure every patient.
 
The Egyptian doctors are treating patients in different areas including bone fractures, eye disease general and ontological surgery, veins and arteries surgery, kidney oral and dental, obstetrician, gynecology and pediatrics and neonatal.
