Eastern Equatoria State Assembly on Wednesday directed the cabinet to form an Economic Crisis Management Committee to resolve the current commodity scarcity and prices increments.
Assembly Speaker Alberio Tobiolo Oromo says the ‘State Economic Crisis Management Committee’ is to plan an emergency intervention strategy, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He notes that the rising prices make commodities unaffordable for a common person as a potential for tensions between consumers and traders.
The Speaker urges Members of the Assembly to enlighten the public to understand that the Dollar scarcity is the cause of high prices, but not traders, calling for calm in the market so that traders try their best to continue supplying commodities.
