The President of the Republic Salva Kiir Mayardit returned from Luanda, Angola after participating in an extraordinary submit of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.

The Minister in the Office of the President Awan Goal Riek told the press on Tuesday at Juba International Airport that the conference urges ‘historical African liberation parties’ to bring SPLM factions together before June to update Arusha Reunification Agreement, Radio Bakhita reported.

He says the conference rejected sanctions on South Sudan, supported the continuation of Troika countries in the peace process as observers and asked for more humanitarian aid to the country.

The Minister discloses that the conference cautioned against negative results if the opposition fails to show interest to negotiate in good faith during the upcoming meeting.
